Policy & Advisory

Alongside her academic work, Lara Saade is engaged in public law practice and institutional advisory work. She currently serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Minister of Justice in Lebanon, where her work relates to justice sector reform and public law and constitutional matters. Her responsibilities include legal and institutional analysis, legislative processes, coordination with judicial and governmental actors, and engagement with international organisations and partners.

Her professional experience spans government, parliament, and international organisations, with more than seventeen years of involvement in legislative work, institutional reform, and policy development. This practice directly informs her academic research on constitutional practice and the operation of law beyond the constitutional text.

She also has extensive experience in gender equality and women’s rights as a component of institutional and legal reform. She is a member of the National Commission for Lebanese Women, where she chairs the Committee on Women’s Participation in Decision-Making and serves as the national focal point for the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Her work in this area combines legal analysis, institutional reform, and policy engagement at national and regional levels.
